Planning Approval for a New Social at Radley College

We are pleased to announce that following a 12 month negotiated process that we have recently received planning consent from the Vale of White Horse for a new Social (Boarding House) for Radley College, located within the Oxfordshire Green Belt.

The new Social will provide the college with first class residential and communal facilities for 5-year groups totalling 70 boys and related pastoral staff accommodation. The design for the new Social follows the colleges centuries old boarding pattern, to fully integrate with the spirit and cultural ethos of the school.  The buildings form and architectural language stems from its context, its unique landscape setting and resonates with the aesthetic qualities of the colleges fine traditional vernacular building stock.

To gain planning approval, Gray Baynes and Shew have worked alongside planning consultants Edgars Ltd, the Heritage Collective and landscape architects Colvin and Moggridge.

Keep an eye out on our social media in preparation for the project to start on site in May 2019.
