New partner appointed to head up Building Surveying Consultancy Division

We are delighted to announce the appointment of a new partner to head up our Building Surveying Consultancy Division.

Mark Norton, MCIOB AssocRICS CMaPS NRAC, is an experienced Chartered Construction Manager with extensive project management experience. He will take up his new position on 1 April 2020, joining current partners David Welbourne and Nigel Spawton.

Since joining the practice in 2006, Mark has used a collaborative approach, combined with extensive knowledge and experience of many methods of construction and procurement, to ensure all projects run successfully. Highly regarded by clients, consultants and contractors across a multitude of sectors, Mark has been responsible for driving forward the practice’s surveying and project management services. Whilst an unusual affiliation with conventional architectural services, under Mark’s vision and guidance, it has become an exciting growth area and an increasingly important area of the business.

Partner Nigel Spawton explains. “Following Robin Edwards’ recent retirement, we wanted to strengthen both the practice’s ownership and its management team. Mark’s appointment is key to the success of our future business development. Few architects have in-house surveyors; in our experience they are missing out. We have found that the addition of Mark and his team, means we are able to offer clients greater choice, flexibility, cost effectiveness and efficiencies, together with faster turnaround times.”

Mark adds. “It’s an exciting time for the industry. I am looking forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead. We need to build on our history and look for new ways and innovative ideas where we can continue to offer our clients something unique. Becoming a partner will enable me to help grow the surveying element of the business, whilst continuing to add value to our more traditional architectural service offering.”
