A Week in the Life of an Architect - Oxfordshire Women's Forum
Thursday, 12 November 2015

GBS associate, Lisa De Leon hosted an Oxfordshire Women’s Forum (OWF) event last Thursday evening. In her presentation, Lisa took the audience through a typical week in a busy city practice – covering both the glamorous and the not so glamorous activities, and reviewed several of the key projects she had been involved with over the past few years. Refreshments were provided after the presentation and much fun was had by all who attended.

A big thank you to Kathleen Pratt who provided valuable assistance and hosting support during the event.

“Hi Lisa

Just a note to say a huge thank you for hosting and leading the OWF event yesterday evening.  Your presentation was engaging, interesting and inspiring, all delivered with a touch of humour too.  It was also a privilege for our guests to be shown round your interesting Arts and Crafts building – an added bonus for the evening, not to mention the lovely supper.

Everyone enjoyed the evening very much and our young guests from the Wychwood School are even more determined to follow architecture as future careers.  Your words specifically to them certainly had an impact.   I am sure they are spurring them on to concentrate even harder on their forthcoming A-levels and gain the results to open access to successful careers….…perhaps one day we will see some buildings they have designed too.

Thank you so much for everything you contributed to the evening.  Please pass on our thanks to Kathleen too”.
