The existing outmoded rooms required complete refurbishment and reorganisation to accommodate ensuite facilities. Prefabricated service pods were assembled in situ, in sympathy with the shape of the rooms and retaining original features. Various sustainable products were installed including communal lighting regulated by natural light and movement sensors and a heat recovery ventilation system. Victorian accommodation comprising 23 rooms with only 2 WCs and 4 showers were transformed into 25 modern, functional ensuite rooms with the latest technology, whilst retaining the quality of the original features.
