A new refurbishment and extension scheme is underway at Wesley Memorial Church. The existing Methodist Grade II listed church and the associated meeting hall are located in New Inn Hall Street in the centre of Oxford where the Methodist movement was founded in 1783. Three phases of the four-phase scheme have now been completed and collectively provide a stair lift to the first floor, new meeting rooms, a full catering kitchen, and a refurbished main hall and John Wesley Room.
The fourth phase is scheduled to commence in the autumn of 2017 and will include extensive window replacement and a top-lit Heritage Atrium with a structural glass entry porch. The total redevelopment will provide better visibility from the street with improved access and facilities for the many community activities supported by the church.
